Connect Hubdoc to ShareFile

Overview

  • Connect your Hubdoc organisation to ShareFile for backup document storage.
  • Change where Hubdoc documents are saved to in ShareFile.

Connect your Hubdoc organisation to ShareFile

Tip | ShareFile doesn't support special characters in file names, so if you're going to copy the folder structure from Hubdoc to ShareFile ensure the Hubdoc folder names don't contain any special characters.

  1. Log in to Hubdoc and open your organisation.
  2. Click the settings icon, then select the Integrations tab.
  3. Under Cloud Storage, next to the ShareFile logo, click Connect.

  4. Log in using your ShareFile credentials.
  5. Select your ShareFile Folder Structure:
    • All documents in one folder copies files into a single folder.
    • Copy your folder structure from Hubdoc creates folders in ShareFile following the same folder structure from Hubdoc.

To disconnect ShareFile from your organisation:

  1. Open your Hubdoc organisation.
  2. Click the settings icon, then select the Integrations tab.
  3. Under Cloud Storage, next to the ShareFile logo, click Disconnect.

Change the ShareFile folder destination

Change the location that Hubdoc syncs to in ShareFile.

In ShareFile:

  1. Log in to ShareFile (ShareFile website).
  2. Find and open the folder you want to set as the destination for your Hubdoc documents.
  3. From the web address bar, copy the URL after '/Myfiles/'. This is the folder ID.

In Hubdoc:

  1. Open your Hubdoc organisation.
  2. Click the settings icon, then select the Integrations tab.
  3. Under your ShareFile account, click Change.
  4. In the Destination Folder field, paste the folder ID copied from ShareFile.
  5. Click Update to save your changes.

Organise multiple client's into one ShareFile account

If you’re an accountant or bookkeeper and have multiple Hubdoc client organisations, organise them all in one ShareFile account.

  1. Create a specific folder for each Hubdoc client you’re connecting to ShareFile.
  2. Connect each of your Hubdoc client’s organisations to your ShareFile account.
  3. Change the ShareFile folder destination for each client to match the folder you’ve created for them in ShareFile.
  4. Publish all of your client’s historical documents to ShareFile.

All your client’s documents are now located in their respective client folder in one ShareFile account.
