Why Xero, why now?
We’ve built a strong relationship with Xero, a top 20 global SaaS company, over the past five years. This acquisition takes our partnership to the next level.
Most importantly, we share the following attributes with our new colleagues at Xero:
- Clear and strong values alignment. We both believe that a customer-first/employee-first approach is the key to making any business successful.
- Shared long-term vision around how technology can and should impact the accounting industry.
- Shared history of working together to deliver value for customers.
What impact will there be on existing Hubdoc customers and partners?
There will be no change for our customers and partners. The Hubdoc business and brand will continue to operate on a standalone basis as we work to identify the best way to integrate our product roadmaps. The only change customers can expect in the future is a deeper, more powerful integration between the Xero and Hubdoc platforms.
What about existing Hubdoc customers and partners that use QuickBooks Online?
We will continue to support all our customers with the high level of service they’ve come to expect, regardless of the technology they use. We are working with the team at Intuit to make sure there is no disruption of service between the two products and to continue to build on our strong relationship.
You mention Hubdoc will remain a standalone team at Xero. Will Hubdoc eventually roll into Xero? When?
We will continue to operate on a standalone basis as we work to identify the best way to integrate our product roadmaps. Customers can expect to see a deeper, more powerful integration between the Xero and Hubdoc platforms. Over the longer-term, we will help Xero take the next steps required to achieve their vision of code-free accounting.
Do you expect any product changes to Hubdoc?
Like Xero, our team is continuously innovating and identifying new opportunities to deliver benefits to customers. Customers can expect to see a deeper, more powerful integration between the Xero and Hubdoc platforms.
Will Hubdoc’s pricing change?
No. In fact, we’re offering a special promotion to all our customers to celebrate the momentous occasion of Xero and Hubdoc joining forces. The promotion will be available for all our customers, regardless of the accounting software they use.
Can I apply for the promotion if I already participate in the Hubdoc and Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program?
Unfortunately, you can only apply one promotion at a time to your Hubdoc account. However, if the promotion has expired, you will qualify for this discount.
Can I apply for the promotion if I already participate in the Intuit Paperless Productivity bundle?
Unfortunately, you can only apply one promotion at a time to your Hubdoc account. However, you will receive your wholesale partner discount along with the Xero promotion discount.
I am an accountant and/or bookkeeper with clients on Hubdoc; have you communicated the acquisition with my clients?
No, we have only communicated with the payor of the Hubdoc account. We will not reach out to your clients if they are not paying for their own Hubdoc account.
Will Hubdoc’s support team change?
No. Hubdoc will continue to deliver standalone support.
Will Hubdoc continue to attend Intuit events?
Yes. We do not have any plans to change our community and events strategy.
Will there be any layoffs/exits at Hubdoc or Xero as a result of this acquisition?
No. In fact, one of the exciting elements of this announcement is that it will allow us to expand Xero’s employment presence in Canada, and establish Xero as an employer of choice for tech talent in Toronto. Hubdoc employees in Australia and the UK will also be joining the Xero team.
